The overarching aim of this book is to inspire those who work with our youngest citizens to appreciate the wonder, joy, learning and development of babies in the first eighteen months of their life. The book also aims to provide an understanding of theory, coupled with practical strategies, to enhance the learning and development of babies responsively, respectfully and sensitively. The book presents up-to-date research, encourages the development of reflective practice and supports meaningful engagement with babies.
