Abstract

This paper summarised the importance of resilience for teachers who are making the transition from initial teacher education (ITE) to working in schools and myriad issues/barriers that can be encountered in the early years of teaching as documented in the research literature. It outlined the importance of research as a mediating factor in this important career phase.
