Over the past decade, the roles of China and the European Union (EU) in global climate governance have changed in important ways. The first part of the chapter examines the convergence and divergence between China and the EU on climate change both in their bilateral relations and in global climate governance. The second part of the chapter focuses on similarities and differences between each side’s approaches. The third part of the chapter reflects on post-2015 global climate negotiations. As two key players in these negotiations, the approach of China and the EU to these negotiations is likely to have a significant impact on the outcome of the negotiations.
