Biography

I enjoyed a formation in Scholastic Philosophy, at Queen's University, Belfast. I was previously a lecturer at the Mater Dei Institute, Dublin, the University of Zambia, in Lusaka, and at Queen's University, Belfast; I have also taught at NUI Maynooth and St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Dublin.

I welcome doctoral proposals in the various areas listed under my research interests.

Research Interests

History (and Historiography) of Western Philosophy, in general.

Plato and Plato Reception in European Philosophy

The Radical Enlightenment

Theories of Power and Resistance in Recent European philosophy
